Formic acid is the only fatty acid with a hydrogen atom attached to the carboxyl group. The repulsive force of the hydrogen atom is much smaller than that of the hydrocarbon group, resulting in a lower electron density of the carboxyl carbon atom compared to other carboxylic acids. Additionally, due to the conjugation effect and the electron bias of the carboxyl oxygen atom towards the carbon, the acidity of formic acid is stronger than other carboxylic acids in the same series.
Temperature and Humidity Control: Maintain warehouse temperature at ≤30°C and relative humidity at ≤85%; ensure the area remains cool and well-ventilated.
Fire Source Isolation: Open flames and heat sources are strictly prohibited.
Container Sealing: Ensure that all packaging containers remain tightly sealed at all times.
Incompatible Storage: Store separately from—and do not co-store with—oxidizers, alkalis, or reactive metal powders.
Firefighting Equipment: Equip the facility with the appropriate types and quantities of firefighting equipment in accordance with relevant regulations.
Emergency Preparedness: The storage area must be equipped with emergency response equipment for spills, as well as absorbent and containment materials.
